Hey, I’m Mariana,

I am the founder and lead designer at Detroit Verde. Before starting Detroit Verde, I spent more than a decade working in engineering and IT, where I learned how to solve problems, manage a million moving pieces, and, honestly, figure sh*t out. Eventually, I left the corporate world to build something of my own and bring together all the things I’ve always loved: designing, planning, building, & turning big ideas into something real.

Growing up, I thought the goal was to graduate from college and leave Michigan in search of something bigger or better. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with this state and this city and realized just how much they have to offer. I’ve always admired Detroit’s fierceness, its grit, & the way it continues to come back stronger. Getting to experience the city in a whole new way through events and collaborating with other Detroit small businesses has been one of the most meaningful and unexpected parts of this journey.

Whether you’re choosing the perfect dinnerware rentals, planning a wedding, or bringing a custom stationery design to life, my team and I are here to make every detail feel intentional, personal, and true to you. We’ll handle the moving pieces & the figure-it-out moments so you can be fully present and feel like a guest at your own event.

That connection is a big part of why I chose the name Detroit Verde. Verde means green in Romanian, my native language, and felt like the perfect nod to my roots and to everything fresh, full of life, and new.

The name brings together the spirit of Detroit, my love for thoughtful design, and the excitement of creating something completely of my own. Detroit Verde is equal parts creativity and logistics, and somehow, that combination feels exactly like me. When you work with me, you get a little humor, a little sarcasm, a lot of calm during chaos, a backup plan for the backup plan, & someone in your corner who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is when it matters.
